I won Edge Studio’s Script Reading Contest!
If you’re looking for a fun (and FREE!) way to strengthen your voice acting chops, consider entering the Voiceover Script Reading Contest on Edge Studio’s website.
What Is Edge Studio?
Edge Studio is a leading provider of voiceover recording and production services, with over 25 years of experience in the industry. They have worked with clients from all over the world, including major corporations, advertising agencies, and television networks.
In addition to providing professional voiceover recording and production services, Edge Studio also offers a variety of educational resources for aspiring voice actors.
One of the standout features of their educational offerings is their Voiceover Training program. This program is designed to give aspiring voice actors the tools and knowledge they need to succeed in the industry. It covers a wide range of topics, including voice acting techniques, business strategies, and marketing. The program is led by experienced industry professionals, who provide personalized feedback and guidance to help students improve their skills.
Edge Studio’s Additional Resources
One of the things I love most about Edge is all of the free tools and resources they provide in addition to their courses and demo production. There is an online script library that you can find here. This is a great way to practice your voice acting skills. There is also a forum where you can post recordings and get feedback from your peers. You can take a look at all their offerings by going to the VO Education section of their website and clicking on the VO Resource Center tab.
Edge Studio’s Script Reading Contest
In my opinion, the BEST free offering they have is the Script Contest! Every quarter Edge runs the Script Reading Contest where you can enter to win prizes. The contest is judged by Edge Studio’s founder David Goldberg and prizes are awarded to the top three finalists. But what I find most valuable is the detailed analysis of the scripts and learning why some actors won the contest and others didn’t. You can even go back and look at the archives and read the analysis of past scripts and listen to submissions. It is rare to receive feedback on auditions so I find this to be such a great learning opportunity! I am so excited to have won the latest round of the contest and can’t wait to take advantage of some training. If you’re looking for ways to improve your voice acting I encourage you to give Edge Studio’s Resource Center a try!
